AquaZaé - Aquatic Bodywork Menu
Aquatic bodywork has been in existence for several decades and is known by many names. At Mountain Waves Healing Arts, we like to call our form of Aquatic bodywork: AquaZaé. The name AquaZaé has its roots in the languages of the Spanish and Navajo and translates as "medicine water", for in an AquaZaé session, the water is the medium through which the body can heal itself. AquaZaé uses the resistance of the warm water to generate a sense of profound relaxation. During a session, the therapist supports your body while they float you with rhythmic and flowing movements. The weightless support provided by the water allows for total muscle relaxation and resulting freedom in the joints of the spine, hips, shoulders and limbs that is unattainable on dry land. Each session lasts for one hour. During that time, you are floating along the surface of the water while your therapist ensures that your nose and face remain above the water. Depending on your body's natural ability to float, we may use floatation devices for your legs to keep them from sinking during the session. The pool is an average depth of 4 feet filled with 98 degree water. We use sand filtration that incorporates a salt chlorination system for water sanitization. The result is beautifully clear water with no chemicals, odor or skin/eye irritation. AquaZaé session pre-requisites:
